Our annual signature events were pivotal in fostering community, recognizing excellence, and driving industry growth.

ADVOCACY

Our advocacy efforts in our 2023-2024 fiscal year were instrumental in achieving significant milestones in tax reform and public safety, strengthening our industry's foundation for growth and security.

Tax Reform | Public Safety | Partnerships

    • Tax Reduction Efforts: Advocated for a significant tax reduction measure, potentially saving the hotel industry up to $8M annually. Successfully opposed Prop B, which would have increased taxes for our members.

    • Public Safety Advocacy: Supported the passage of Propositions E and F, enhancing public safety measures and substance dependence screening for city public assistance recipients.

  • Through our Security Committee Expansion, we strengthened partnerships with the SFPD, leading to numerous arrests and prosecutions, effectively deterring criminal activity in hotels. We also submitted an amicus brief in the Grants Pass v. Johnson Case to the US Supreme Court, advocating for safer and cleaner streets.

    • Event Support: Prepared and provided resources for major events like APEC, Dreamforce, and the JP Morgan Annual Healthcare Conference.

    • Community Collaboration: Partnered with local organizations to promote San Francisco as a premier destination for tourism and business.

    • Civic Engagement: Distributed over 75 window signs and video content from It All Starts Here SF to boost civic pride.

ENGAGEMENT

We demonstrated our commitment to community engagement through a variety of impactful initiatives, including educational seminars, workforce development programs, and charitable contributions.

Education | Workforce | Giving Back

  • Organized quarterly membership calls and seminars, such as the Visitor Impact Summit and Security Webinar, offering valuable insights to members.

    • Job Fair Success: Collaborated with OEWD for the 3rd Annual Hospitality and Small Business Job Fair, attracting nearly 1,000 job seekers.

    • Transit Support: Secured over $600k in free public transit for hospitality workers through a partnership with BART.

    • Empowering Leaders: Hosted signature events like the Allied Member Showcase and Women in Leadership Forum, providing networking and growth opportunities.

  • Raised over $11k for the CHLA Hospitality Foundation, organized a toy drive for children in need through the SF Firefighters Toy Program, and promoted a relief campaign for the Maui Wildfire.
