The Hotel Council of San Francisco and our partners at San Franciso Travel convene the Clean, Safe, and Civil Coalition which meets regularly with the San Francisco Police Department’s Chief Scott and the Mayor Lee regarding safety on our streets.

Recently, SFPD Chief Scott announced an increase to beat police officers and foot patrol to prevent crime. The Mayor also announced an additional $45 billion for homeless services and new navigation centers, including a mental health navigation center.

San Francisco police said Thursday they are shifting tactics in their fight to reduce vehicle burglaries and other property crimes by increasing foot patrols and seeking to prevent more crimes before they happen.

Police Chief William Scott said the department will increase staffing at all district stations starting this Saturday and nearly double the number of officers assigned to foot and bike patrols, which currently stands at less than 100.
